Mario Mikulincer

Mario Mikulincer is currently a psychological scientist at Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Israel. He completed his university studies in Israel and received a PhD degree in Psychology at Bar-Ilan University in 1985. From 1985, he published more than 400 articles and book chapters, three authored books, and nine edited books. His main research interests are: Attachment styles in adulthood; Terror Management theory; personality processes in interpersonal relationships; prosocial feelings and behavior; trauma and post-trauma, and grief-related processes. His work is highly cited with more than 36,000 citations in scientific outlets (H-Index: 96). 

From 1992, he is a Professor of Psychology. Between 1995 and 1999, he acted as the Chair of the Psychology Department at Bar-Ilan University. Between 1999 and 2004, he acted as the Chair of Interdisciplinary Studies of Bar-Ilan University, and between 2004-2006, he served as the Dean of Bar-Ilan University's Regional Colleges. Between 2007-2014, he was the founder Dean of the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology at Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, and between 2014-2017 he was the Provost of IDC Herzliya. 

He serves as a member of several editorial boards in the field of personality and social Psychology. Between 2003-2009, he acted as an associate editor of Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, between 2006- 2009, he also acted as an associate editor of Personal Relationships, and between 2010-2015, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. He is a fellow of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology and the Association for Psychological Science. In 2004, he received the E.M.E.T. Prize in Social Science for his contribution to psychology. In 2006, he was awarded with the Berscheid-Hatfield Award for Distinguished Mid-Career Achievement from the International Association for Relationship Research.
